Duel with the Devil: The True Story of How Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr Teamed Up to Take on America's First Sensational Murder Mystery by Paul Collins

This is a story that takes place in 1800 New York.  A lady is found murdered and the person who is accused of the crime winds up with Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton for his legal team.  An interesting book of twists and suspense along with a great deal of history. A good read that will have you finishing it in one sitting.  "I received this book for free from  Blogging for Books  for this review."

A Miracle in a Dry Season by Sarah Loudin Thomas

My mom grew up during this time in the same general area, so it was interesting to see how this was like her growing up time.  Many of the small town, mountain ways she could relate to. Perla brings her daughter to a small town in West Virginia and hopes to just be able to settle in, but she becomes involved with a crisis in the town that bring attention to her.  She is able to help them with this crisis with her gift, but everyone doesn't understand her and causes her to be judged.  Casewell Phillips senses that she is someone he wants to get to know, but realizes that there is more to her than she is letting on. It will be interesting to see how this series continues. I received this book free to review.

A Bouquet of Love by Janice Thompson

A fun book telling the story of how Cassia Pappas is trying to enjoy her new job in floral shop, but instead has to put up with her huge family that has decided to move to her town and open up a restaurant.  This might be ok if they hadn't expected her help and opened up across from a restaurant that she needs a good relationship with. This is a great book that completes a fun series. I would greatly recommend this book to anyone expect to find yourself getting involved and wanting to be there.   I received this book free for review.

In Perfect Time by Sarah Sundin

Another great book that helps fulfill my enjoyment of historical novels.   This is book three of a set of novels set during the WWII era and while it is helpful to have read the first two it wasn't a deal breaker.   In Perfect Time tells the story of Nurse Kay Jacobson and pilot Roger Cooper.  The book tells of their time in WWII working with patients, bringing supplies, and how their paths keep intersecting.  They both have issues that need to work out and Sarah Sundin helps to tell the story while at the same time informing you about the practices that occurred during wartime. I enjoyed reading this book and do recommend reading it. I received this book free from the publisher to review.
