Shadows on the Sand by Gayle Roper

Great book as Carrie and Greg try to decipher the disappearance of Jase.  Carrie owns a diner that Jase works at and when he disappears after a fight with the boyfriend of another of her workers, they team up to find out the truth.  Jase's parents are trying to find out what happened to him and are convinced that he did not go back to the cult that he was previously a member of.  In finding out what has happened, Carrie and Greg have to face their past and decide how it will affect their future.  “I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review”

A Sound Among the Trees by Susan Meissner

I own several books by Susan Meissner and this one is just as good as the others.  It takes place in Fredericksburg, VA in current times, but draws much from the Civil War days since the house was built before the Civil war.  Marielle has just married the owner of the house and moved there from Arizona.  Her mother in law lives in the house as well.   The locals feel the house is haunted by a previous occupant who is said to have betrayed the south during the civil war, but the current occupants don't believe that , but do feel that the is something about the occupants of the house who seem to draw misfortune. “I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review”
