Nothing Short of Wondrous by Regina Scott

I enjoy stories set in the past as it gives me a glimpse into how people lived in a story formation.  I have been to Yellowstone so I can see how Kate would love her land and want it to be protected.  She finds herself showing her beloved land to Lieutenant Prescott as he must track down those who do not respect the land.  He needs a guide and she has the ability to do just that.  Along the way they get to know each other and grow closer to the land and each other.      I received a copy to read, the review is mine.

The Key to Love by Betsy St. Amant

This was a fun read as Bri has her own ideas about love and has found an interesting way to incorporate it into her store.  I think her store would be neat to visit and it sounds like a great place to eat and take in  the atmosphere.   When her store and its locks have an opportunity to be featured in a magazine, Bri finds herself falling for the writer of her story.  The only catch is , is that she isn't what she expected for her turn at love.      I received a copy to read, the review is mine.

I can only imagine what is must have been like for Agnes to give up everything and travel to Dakota Territory, but unfortunately her new life was short lived. When her childhood sweetheart shows up in her new life, she has to do all she can to keep her secret, especially from him.   I liked in how the book progressed we got to see a glimpse of life during this time period and see the relationship grow between Agnes and James and how they worked on overcoming the past.      I received a copy of the book the review is mine.

A Dazzle of Diamonds by Liz Johnson

I would love Penelope's job in Savannah.  I could imagine what type of event could be held a the venue and the fun in planning the.  Unfortunately things are not going as planned as her ex shows up with his new finance, who tries to get her fired.  Things continue to go downhill as Tucker, who is running for sheriff is caught up not only in a smear campaign, but also in the vendetta against Penelope.  I really enjoyed how they were able to team up to get things on the right track and loved the treasure hunt as well.      I received a copy of the book to read, the review is mine.

Seashells and Murder by H.Y. Hanna

I get a little jealous when reading this series. Ellie is having a great time in Florida, sampling new foods, spending time at the pool and beach, meeting new people, and solving another murder.  Maybe I will skip the murder part, but I would love to visit the resort she is staying at.      Ellie finds herself caught up in another murder when she is asked to be a second judge in a Key Lime Pie contest.  She soon finds herself going around the resort trying to find out who had a reason to kill the main judge.  I loved the scene where Mojito helped her figure out how to get in the kitchen and of course Hemingway plays a big part too.  Looking forward to book three.

Kickbacks, Kayaks, and Kidnapping: A Camper and Criminals by Tonya Kappes

I love the goings on at the Happy Trails Campground in Normal, Kentucky.  Mae is doing a great job a the campground.  She is getting events held there and people love staying there.  During a competitions that will lead to the Olympics,  a person is found dead.  This cancels out the great reviews that the campground has been getting.  Now Mae and her Laundry Club Ladies need to get to work to get everything back to "Normal"  I love Mae and her Ladies and all the craziness they get into trying to make it all work out ok.

Flip-Flops and Murder by H.Y. Hanna

I enjoyed this new series and wanted to join Ellie at the resort.  It seems like a pretty nice place to visit excluding the murder of course.  Ellie hits the jackpot with a ticket to Florida to stay with her aunt at a nice beach resort and she jumps at the chance to leave England to join her.  When she gets there she meets all kinds of people, but not her aunt and one of them winds up dead shortly afterwards.       Ellie bungles some of her first choices of who did it and why, but soon it all comes together.  I look forward to seeing what happens next.      I received  a copy of the story to read, the review is mine. .

An Appalachian Summer by Ann H. Gabhart

I really enjoyed this story as I enjoy reading books that give me an insight into history, but weave it in a story.  I cannot imagine what it must have been like for Piper to go against her parents and the life she was brought up in to become a volunteer courier for the Frontier Nurses.  She had to take on  a very different lifestyle, interact with different people, and even fall in love.  A great read.      I received a copy to read, the review is mine.

Don't Keep Silent is full of twists and turns and will keep you reading to see what will happen next.  Rae is determined at all costs to find her sister-in-law and won't stop at anything to find her.  I love the determination she has even though it means working with Lima McKade whom she has a history with.       Liam thinks he will be able to settle down, but soon finds himself interacting with Rae again as she finds herself in danger trying to follow the clues.      I received a copy of the book to read, the review is mine.

A Bride of Convenience by Jody Hedlund

I really enjoyed this third book in the Bride Ship Series.  Each of the women have come over for a better life and Zoe is no different.  She has  big heart and a secondary plan of being able to reunite with her brother.  She soon finds herself married and not really sure about what she has gotten herself into.      The book is full of interesting events that are both fiction and and based on events of the time.      I received a book from the author, but did purchased the audiobook and enjoyed the narrator.  The review is mine.

The Heart of a Hero by Susan May Warren

     Jake is great at what is he does a part of the rescue team Jones Inc including rescuing  Aria.   When he finds a chance to do at again as a hurricane is heading to Key West he does not hesitate.  Aria though is not as convinced.  As the hurricane comes close I liked seeing how they began to relate better to each each other and learned to overcome the barriers that brought them together, but yet apart the first time the met.  I liked feeling like I was there as a part of the excitement and uncertainty that they had to go through as the story evolved.       I received a copy of the book to read, the review is mine;

A Reckless Love by Beth White

I really enjoyed reading bout Aurora and how she is good at getting done what needs to be done even when the circumstances are not the best.  She has done the best for her family getting them settled and ready to move to the next step, but now she faces a different challenge in the form of a deputy marshal by the name of Zane Sager.      Zane is there to find a killer and keep the witnesses safe and has a not so great outlook.  Aurora puts it on herself to try to help lighten his outlook and get a better outlook on life.  About the time she is getting thorough though things happen that reinforce his prior outlook on life.      This book is great read and I would recommend it.  It is the third book in a series, but can be read alone.  I received a copy to read, the review is mine.

All She Wrote: A Cat Cozy Mystery: A Mail Carrier Cozy Mystery by Tonya Kappes

This book has a lot going for it.  It is set in a small town and the characters really lend much to the book.  They have to work out who murdered Florence and why.  In addition they have to sort out what is going with other family members  and keep up with what is going on in the neighborhood.  I can just see Bernie going about doing her job as mail carrier all the while snooping as well.      I received  a copy of the book to read, the review is mine.

Starfish Pier by Irene Hannon

I love Hope Harbor and the characters that live there.  Steven has moved there to have a more peaceful life to spend his days fishing and taking people out to fish, but there are still things in his past that stick with him.      Holly finds herself working with Steven on a project where they don't always agree it turns into a really big deal as the entire community gets involved.  They have to learn how to work for this good cause even when they don't always agree.  I know how hard that can be to really be pasionate about something but to have to sometimes give in to make things work for the best.      I received a copy of the book the review is mine.

Standoff by Patricia Bradley

I enjoy a good mystery and this one did not disappoint.  Having been on part of the Natchez Trace National Parkway, I could easily envision many of the scenes in the book.       Luke has been sent in to become a part of a drug ring, but finds himself instead investigating the murder of a friend.  He finds solving the murder even more a priority when his friend John's daughter gets drawn in while investigating the murder and finds herself a target as well. Luke finds it all he can do to keep her safe and find out what exactly is going on.

Hadley Beckett's Next Dish by Bethany Turner

This is a new to me author and I enjoyed the book.  Being from the South myself I could relate to Hadley and her southern charms and ways and I can envisions what it was like for her to have to work with Max.      Both Max and Hadley have to work together on a TV show as Max is trying for a new start and they both have to learn to work together and make their different ways mesh.  I was funny to see how they clashed at times and how they figured things out.       I received a copy of the book, the review is mine.

On a Coastal Breeze by Suzanne Woods Fisher

I really enjoyed reading this book and getting introduced to the characters.  Maddie thinks she has things under control but like many of us she soon finds out that things are not quite as she would like them.  I think I would like to live on this island as it seems like a great place to live and work.       Maddie's world gets turned upside down when Ricky show up.  Ricky is the one person that Maddie could do with out, so of course he winds up back in her life.  A great read and one that will keep you wanting to see how it will all turn out. I received a copy of the book to read, the review is my own.

The Traitor's Pawn by Lisa Harris

I enjoyed the suspense of this book as Jack is trying to figure out what exactly is going on and how to address the problem.  He joins the search for a missing person thinking it might be both related to the case he is working on and because he realizes he knows her.  This is a book that will keep you reading.    I received a copy to read the review is mine.

Tents, Trails and Turmoil: A Camper and Criminals Cozy Mystery Series Book 11

It was fun seeing the group as they tried to go camping and wound up with a dead body instead.  They are going camping in the Daniel Boon Forest and I can just picture them getting everything in place thinking this was just the trip they needed and then having to put their sleuthing skills to use when a dead body is found.  They have to go about finding out what had happened before the killer gets away with it.  It is a story that will keep you reading.     I received a preview copy, the review is mine.

The Happy Camper by Melody Carlson

I really enjoyed this fun read.  I think it would be interesting to set up shop in a camper and maybe even be able to go a few places in it.  Dillon really has her hands full when she goes home to help out her grandfather and it gets even fuller when she realizes her mom is there too.  I really enjoyed the characters in this book and found it funny at times as they got everything sorted out.      I received a copy of this book to read, the review is mine.

Out of the Embers by Amanda Cabot

I enjoyed seeing how Evelyn was able to take charge of her life and the life of another.  She is resourceful and finds her way to Wyatt's ranch to take refuge.  She has had some had times in her life and trouble is still following her.  I liked how Wyatt was able to see past his first views and step up to help Evelyn in her time of need.      I received a copy of the book to read, the review is mine.

The Runaway Bride (The Bride Ships Book #2) by Jody Hedlund

I really enjoyed this book. I loved seeing Arabella go between Pete who she really liked but  had to get past her social upbringing  and the Lieutenant who she didn't really care for but felt made a good social match.  She is torn between continuing the baking she is loving and getting told someone of her station should not do things like that.  It was really eye opening as to the social standards of the day even in the new circumstances that Arabella found herself in.  I liked seeing how she came on her own as the story progressed.

Collision of Lies by Tom Threadgill

This is a new to me author and I enjoyed the story.  It was really fast moving and made you really think as it continued as to what was being discovered and how it related to the collision several years ago.  Amara had to do all she could when she found out some new information about the crash and how to act on it on a way that bring about the best results.       I received a copy of the book to read, the review is mine. T

The Land Beneath Us by Sarah Sundin

I really enjoy historical fiction as I can learn from the story and occasionally research more from what is mentioned.  I loved the story of Clay and Leah as they got to know each other after an unexpected marriage to each other.  It made me think of all the letters that must have gone back and forth during all the wars.  I also enjoyed Leah's story of trying to find the rest of the her family and how it wasn't very easy to do.      I received a copy of the book to read, the review is mine.

Two Steps Forward by Suzanne Woods Fisher

Sylvie has taken a chance by hiring Jimmy Fisher to come and work on her farm.  He knows horses and got introduced to her while admiring her buggy horse.  Sylvie has her hands full running the farm and trying to keep her neighbor (Jimmy's mom) from trying to take the farm.  As the work together to try to get the farm back in shape and to get the finances shored up  they become closer.      I really enjoyed the characters in this book.  While it is book three and characters from the other books appear, it can be enjoyed without having read the other books.      I received a copy of the book to read, the review is mine.
I love the town of Honey Springs and the characters that live there.  Roxy is helping out with food on the set of the Honey Springs Theater's newest productions and Aunt Maxi is is trying her hand at acting when a part comes open.  As the play continues, Aunt Maxi's part changes.  As the production continues, the producer finds himself the victim and it is up to Roxy to find out what exactly happened.  I enjoyed the interaction between the characters and how they didn't always agree on things, but eventually got it all figured out.

An Uncommon Woman by Laura Frantz

I really enjoy historical fiction and An Uncommon Woman gave much insight into the life of a woman living in the 18th century frontier.  Tessa soon finds herself in a bit of trouble and the fort commander Clay has to work on rescuing her.  I could really get into what life was like and see the scenes play out.  I liked seeing how things worked out between Clay and what he had to do even though he wasn't sure about much that went on.      I received a copy of the book, the review is mine.

Way of the Brave by Susan May Warren

I like the action in this author's books.  The main character use to be first on the scene helping others until sidelined with an injury.  He wants to withdraw from everyone but finds his skills necessary.  I liked how he was finally able to overcome his needs for the needs of others.  He is working with Jenny who has more of  a connections to him that he first knows.  This story really showcases forgiveness and the willingness to put others above yourself to do what has to be done for the greater good.      I received a copy of the book to read, the review is mine.
