Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand

It took me a bit to finish this book, but it was very enlightening.  It chronicles the story of Louis Zamperini.  It tells of his life before WW2 and then how he survives a plane crash and time in the Japanese POW camp.  It then continues with his life after the war and how he managed to get back to life as normal. This is book three in the Sinclair Sisters Series.  I was looking forward to reading book three and it did not disappoint.   The fourth Sinclair Sister has made it to Cripple Creek and is determined to earn her own way.  On the way to the town, she encounters bandits on the train and through out the book it tells of her other encounters and her dealings with the sheriff that start out over the robbery, but advance with some matchmaking.  "I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review." Inescapable by Nancy Mehl

After reading the cover, I wanted to dive into this book and keep reading.  I was not disappointed.  The book kept me wondering what would happen next and who would be responsible for what was happening.  I had to wonder how it would work out for Lizzie and her daughter Charity.  It was also interesting to see each character's different takes on forgiveness and how the treated Lizzie and her daughter.

The Daughter's Walk by Jane Kirkpatrick

Having just completed Where Lilacs Still Bloom, I was looking forward to reading this book as well.  This story continues after the Estby's journey to NYC to raise money to save the family farm in Washington State.  They traveled  there by walking due to a wager from the fashion industry.  The daughter Clara did not choose to come back and this book tells what may have happened and why she didn't decide to come back and how that decision affected her life. Where Lilacs Still Bloom by Jane Kirkpatrick

This is a fictional rendering of the real life Hulda Klager.  She was a gardener who loved to grow many things including several varieties of lilacs.  She wrote down much of her accomplishments in gardening.  This book chronicles those accomplishments as well as what happened in her personal life with her family and friends.  A good read for those who love growing flowers and are interested in life during that time period.
