Standoff by Patricia Bradley

     I enjoy a good mystery and this one did not disappoint.  Having been on part of the Natchez Trace National Parkway, I could easily envision many of the scenes in the book. 
     Luke has been sent in to become a part of a drug ring, but finds himself instead investigating the murder of a friend.  He finds solving the murder even more a priority when his friend John's daughter gets drawn in while investigating the murder and finds herself a target as well. Luke finds it all he can do to keep her safe and find out what exactly is going on.

 I really enjoyed reading this book.  Enya's father wants her married to a suitable person and decides a matchmaker is just the person to make it happen.  Sullivan needs to marry to meet his father's demands and decides that Enya will make a suitable match.  The book progresses as they come to know each other and really have to learn to lean on each other even in the had times.  A really good historical read and romance.  Look forward to more.

Love's Fortune by Laura Frantz

I like how the main character Wren is not afraid to be herself and make the best of her new situation.  She has been raised  by her father in a manner that does not show the money that her family  actually  has, but soon finds herself in a new situation that is not what she is accustomed to. Wren finds herself leaving her country home in Kentucky and having to learn how to fit into her grandparent's home.  She does the best to learn how to act and dress, but deep down she is still who she is beneath all the finery.  She does what she has to for her family, but still remains loyal to her roots.  Wren is a fascinating character an made the book worth reading.  I received this book free from the publisher to review. Thrill Squeaker: A Squeaky Clean Mystery by Christy Barritt

     After her last trip away, Gabby is ready for a routine job and this turns out to be anything but.  When her old partner Chad ask for help cleaning up an old abandoned amusement park, Gabby sees it as a fun way to earn a little money, help out a friend, and work in a few training sessions for her new job as well.  She didn't realize that she soon would be putting a few of the techniques and gadgets she trains with to the test.      While there, the crew realizes that there is more to the amusement park than meets the eye and someone does not want them to find out what.  They find themselves having to dodge danger and try to find out the mystery of Mythical Falls.      I loved seeing what Gabby and the gang were up to now, especially finding out where Gabby and Riley's relationship was headed.  I can't wait to see what happens next,      I received a copy of the book from the author to read and review...
