When Twilight Breaks by Sarah Sundin

When Twilight Breaks takes place in 1938.  It was interesting to read from the perspective of right before the war, knowing what would later take place.  The two main characters are Americans in Germany right before the start of WW2.  They both find themselves in a position to show what is going on in the countries to those outside of Germany.  I really enjoy getting to see history for this perspective.       I received a copy of the book, the review is mine.

A Dance in Donegal by Jennifer Deibel

I felt like I was on the journey with Moira as she travels to Ireland to become a teacher in her mother's homeland.  As she gets there, she faces many new idea and customs.  Many are very welcoming to her and others hold strong to superstitions and the past.  I would hard enough to give up all and travel to a new country, but to face what Moira had to would make it even more daunting.  I was glad that she was able to find others along the way to help her on her new journey.      I received a copy to read, the review is mine.

The Moonlight School by Suzanne Woods Fisher

It was fascinating to learn about the Moonlight School as the book was based on actual events.   Lucy, Cora, and Wyatt work to try to help the adults in the area to learn how to read.  They are hired to educate the children, but  realize that there is also a need to help the adults as well.  Lucy sees the need and finds a greater purpose at the same time.  I can relate to how hard it can be to overcome all that can go against you and to accept what is offered.      I received a  copy to read, the review is mine.

Nearly Departed by Lesley Diehl

An enjoyable mystery.  Eve has her first case and much is on the line.  She is trying to juggle a few things at once including who is after her friend Madeline's uncle.  She has to figure out how to make her first real case count and deal with real life as well.  She has to figure out how to juggle work and family before it is too late.       I received a copy to read, the review is mine.

Active Defense: Danger Never Sleeps Series by Lynette Eason

Heather thinks she has left everything behind when she goes out of town, but it seems as though trouble followed her there. She realizes that she has stalker, but didn't think that he had followed her when she left town.  Fortunately she has an ally in Travis.  Travis is used to situations like the one Heather has and knows how to work around it.  Together they put their heads together to try and figure out just who is going after her and how to stop them. I received a copy to read, the review is mine.

Tidewater Bride by Laura Frantz

I really enjoyed reading the book and seeing it in the historical context.  Selah has gone against convention not wanting to marry but instead wants to continue working with her father.  She also decides instead of finding a suitor for herself, she will work with the incoming brides to help them match up suitable.  Along the ways she begins to interact with Xander and the soon become more committed to each other than either though was possible. I received a copy to read, the review is mine.
