When God created My Toes by Dandi Daley Mackall

Super book that is great to real to a child or even one that can be read together.  The illustrations go great with the story.  The book takes one through with how God created the child and what he may have been thinking as he created each part. “I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review”

The Crossing by Sierta Ann Jakes

The Crossing is about how Claudia watched a murder 10 years ago while on a bus in high school.  Ten years later the case about who opened fire is reopened and eventually solved.  This book wasn't exactly what I expected, but was an okay book to read and figure out who had committed the murder.  The book details relationships of others who are also involved in the story.  “I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review”

The Christmas Singing by Cindy Woodsmall

This is a great quick read.  I have enjoyed reading several of her other books and looked forward to receiving this book and was not disappointed.  Mattie is a talented baker and after her shop burns down she returns to her parents home.  While there she had to encounter Gideon who she was previously engaged to and work on being civil to. Gideon still cares for Mattie and had kept a secret from her that caused them to break up. This story tells how they work on their differences and forgiveness. “I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review”

Forever Faithful by Karen Kingsbury

Forever Faithful is three books in one.  It includes Waiting for Morning, A Moment of Weakness, and Halfway to Forever.  It is a great way to get introduced to Karen Kingsbury and to find out what happens next in the trilogy. Waiting for Morning is about how Hannah overcomes her hate and grief after her husband and daughter are killed.  She gains peace through the ones that are around her that help her to see clearly again. A Moment of Weakness is about two childhood friends who meet again later as adults.  Some choices are made that have long lasting consequences.  Halfway to Forever take on the two couples again and the trials that they are still facing and how they deal with them  “I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review”

A Sound Among the Trees by Susan Meissner

I own several books by Susan Meissner and this one is just as good as the others.  It takes place in Fredericksburg, VA in current times, but draws much from the Civil War days since the house was built before the Civil war.  Marielle has just married the owner of the house and moved there from Arizona.  Her mother in law lives in the house as well.   The locals feel the house is haunted by a previous occupant who is said to have betrayed the south during the civil war, but the current occupants don't believe that , but do feel that the is something about the occupants of the house who seem to draw misfortune. “I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review”

Restless in Carolina by Tamara Leigh

Although I have not read the other two books in this series, I was still able to enjoy reading this book.    Bridget is looking to preserve her uncle's land and meets with JC to help her do this.  The land needs to be developed in the right way and even though there are others wanting to get their hands on the land, Bridget feels that JC will be able to keep her interests in mind. “I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review”

Judgment Day by Wanda L. Dyson

Suzanne Kidwell is a host of a cable news show and when one of her sources shows up dead in her living room and something happens to her boyfriend that was intended for her she has to turn to her ex to help her out with the investigation.  It does not help that she does not remember what happened that night and her reputation is not the best. A good thriller that keeps you turning the page to see what will happen next to the characters and seeing how your past can catch up to you.   “I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review”

Departures by Robin Jones Gunn

Good book for teenage girls.  It it two short stories that continue  the stories of Christy Miller and Sierra Jensen.  Both stories have a focus of how they handle the things that come their way including friendships, boys, and life in general for teenage girls.  A cute read. “I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review”

The Inconvenient Marriage of Charlotte Beck: A Novel by Kathleen Y'Barbo

Enjoyable read that keeps the pages turning. Charlotte is an American who is in Europe  with her step-mother being "introduced" to society, but keeps finding herself in situations that that are not befitting a lady.  Alex is having to take on family responsibilities to keep his family financially sound and in good society standing.  A proposal is made for the two to marry so that they can both pursue what they are really interested in with the understanding that it would be for those reasons only, but soon find that they are better suited than once thought.  “I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review”

Indelible by Kristen Heitzmann

Indelible takes place in Redford, Colorado in the same town as her book Indivisible and shares some of the same characters including the sheriff Jonah Westfall, his newly pregnant wife Tia, and her best friend Piper.  Strange goings on are still occurring in town and high county outfitter Trevor MacDaniel rescued a toddler from a mountain lion and  his life is forever changed.  Trevor begins receiving information about more children in danger and his life and the toddler's aunt, Natalie intertwine to deal with this information. The Corruptible

This is the second book in the Ray Quinn mystery series.  I enjoyed the procedural part of the book that allowed me to try to figure out the ending as I went.  This was an easy read and I think that others in the series would be worth reading.  Ray is a retired detective who now works as a private investigator.  He is able to use his skill in doing this even though he is really only took this case for the money.

Indivisible by Kristen Heitzmann

Interesting read.  It starts off a bit slow and disjointed, but once you get into it, it turns into a page turner.  Police Chief Jonah Westfall investigates some strange goings on in the city starting with the discovery of two racoons that are sewn together.  He warns Tia who he has a past with to be careful as they were found where she walks home each day.  She doesn't like his bossiness, but does try to be more aware.  It can be difficult to read at times as the crimes are detailed, but it is still a good read. Mine is the NIght by Liz Curtis Higgs

A great finish to the story of the Kerr women.  It tells the story of Elizabeth and Marjory Kerr her mother in law and how they continue their lives after the death of Elizabeth's husband.  They must depend on a distant relative for their care.  The description of 17th Century Scotland was very insightful.  A delightful book that is well worth reading. Plain Wisdom by Cindy Woodsmall and Marian Flaud

An interesting insight into the Old Order Amish and an English view of that life.  This book details the friendship between Cindy and Marian and tells of visits with one another.  It gives insights into their lives, their everyday living, and how each views the others life.  Also included are several great recipes.  I have enjoyed several of Cindy's books and it is interesting to get a nonfiction view as to how the books relate. God Loves Me More Than That by Dandi Daley Mackall

Wonderful kids book.  They just loved the pictures and comparing how much God loves them.  The football scene was especially relevant to them as they love football.  And they liked the kitten too. "I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review"

The Bridge of Peace (Ada's House Book 2) Cindy Woodsmall

I could hardly put this book down once I started reading it.  It is one that leaves you wanting to know how things will work out with the characters and how they handle the obstacles that are thrown at them. It gives you insight into how the Amish think and deal with everyday life.  It was interesting to see how Cara and Lori were fitting into Amish life and how Deborah and Ada were making a go at things. Would recommend this book heartily and can't wait for the next book in the series to come out. "I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review"

The Miracle of Mercy Land by River Jordan

I had not heard of this author till I selected this book. I picked it because it was set on the Gulf Coast of Alabama and I had been there.  I thought maybe I would recognize some of the places in the book. The book was about Mercy and Doc and the newspaper they publish.  A book appears that can be helpful or not with the information that it contains.  The book contains the story as to how they decide to use the contents of the book.
