Through Waters Deep by Sarah Sundin

A great historical fiction that takes place at the start of the American entry to World War 2.  This is a story of intrigue with a bit of romance.  Mary and Jim must work together to figure out who is committing sabotage on the USS Atwood.  I liked how the book kept you guessing as to what was going on and who all was involved.  The characters are engaging and I liked seeing how they evolved to become the people they are to get the job done. I received this book free from the publisher to review.

Trial Run By Thomas Locke

A great book for those who like suspenseful thrillers.  It gives you some ideas to ponder at the start of the book and then as the book progresses, it fills you into a deeper understanding of those ideas.  I am not usually a fan of this type of book ,but decided to give it a chance.  It kept me reading to see how things would turn out.  So for all those sci-fi, thriller fans out there, I would give it a chance.      I received this book free from the publisher to review.

Refining Fire by Tracie Peterson

I have enjoyed reading stories from this author for several years and love it when what she writes is a part of a series.  Refining Fire is part of the Seattle Brides Series and is a great read.  It gives you insight into not only what it is like for her characters, but what Seattle was like during the time frame.      Militine is attending the Madison Bridal School, not to become a bride, but to escape from her past.  She finds herself learning to trust with the help of her friends Abrinna and Wade as well as with help from Thane who is seeking answers himself.  Each learn to work together and trust God to make it all work out. Dust and Obey by Christy Barritt

I liked seeing Gabby and Riley working together and working on working out things out. They find themselves helping out a friend at a marriage retreat for couples and soon find themselves more deeply involved than they planned. Also as they act as a couple, they find themselves figuring out why they are no longer a couple. Also while gone they get a call from Sierra and Chad about the baby. I really enjoy this series of books and find myself reading them in one session. I can't wait to see what is in store next.

Luther and Katharina by Jody Hedlund

I enjoyed getting a chance to read this book. I had read and enjoyed  other books by this author and this one did not disappoint.  I was not very familiar beyond the basics of this time period and learned much not only about the characters, but what was going on in the world as well.  This book enlightened me to the practices of the day as well as the relationship between the characters.   This book really shows what it was like during this time and has given me things to think about and ponder about this time in history and how everything came together. Hope Harbor by Irene Hannon

Tracy is working hard at her family's cranberry farm, while still working as an accountant and helping out with the helping hands organization.  Michael has taken a leave from his job that also helps people.  He travels to the town that his now deceased wife loved.  While there a series of events gets Tracy and Michael working together and soon falling for each other.      I liked seeing how everything came together in this book, from Michael taking time off, to his finding a place to live, to having time to help out in the community.  I like how the town helps each other out and comes together to help out.   This is a great read and one that gives you hope in others.      I received a copy of this book to read for review from the publisher.

Stealing Jake by Pam Hillman

Livy observes a street boy acting as a  pickpocket.  She realizes what he is doing since she used to be one herself.  She now runs an orphanage to help others who are like she was and goes after the boy.   Jake Russell is a sheriff's deputy who meets Livy while going after a thief.  He doesn't feel like he has time to spend on a romance, but still feels drawn to Livy.        I like reading historical fiction and this one was a good read.  I liked seeing how Livy not only worked at turning her own life around, but wanted to do the same for others.  By being in the same situation, she could identify with those she helped.        More from the author can be found here  http://www.pamhillman.com/      I received a copy of this book free to review from the publisher.
