Light of Dawn by Vannetta Chapman

I have really enjoyed reading this series and this book was just as good.  I would find it hard to go through what Shelby, Carter, and Max have been going through and then to leave what is comfortable to try to find what is needed would be even worse.  This book is a real page turner and will pull you in from the beginning.      I received a copy from the publisher, but the review is my own.

Cement Stilettos by Diane Vallere

A quick paced mystery that will keep you reading.  Samantha finds herself trying to figure out what is going on when she finds a dead body in her finance's storeroom.  She decides that she has to figure out what is going on not only with the dead body but with her fiance as well.  Full of surprises a great read.      I received a copy from the author, the review is entirely my own.

Distorted by Christ Barrett

Distorted is book that is not only suspenseful, but makes you really think as well.  Mallory was a victim of human trafficking and after being rescued, she goes out speaking out about what has happened.  When she starts to get some threats and it becomes apparent that everything is not as it seems, Tennyson is brought in to help protect her.      This book really kept me reading and things were not always as they seemed.  It was a book that really make me want to guess what would happen next and then was quite pleased when I guessed right and pleasantly surprised when I wasn't.     I also liked how Mallory was a survivor and did not let things get to her and stop her even when she was afraid.  She was not afraid to keep on living.     I received a copy of the book from the author, the review is entirely my own.

The Road to Paradise by Karen Barnett

Image
As an enjoyer of national parks, I was excited to see this book.  It gives you a feel of what Mount Rainer park was like as the park was getting started and some of the things that had to be work out with our national park system.  I think I would have liked to have been Margie and had the chance to work at Mount Rainer.  The story also has the point of view of one of the rangers, Ford Brayden.  He is still working out how to best do his job and working with Margie is not one of the things on his list.   They both love the simplicity and beauty of the parks though and will do all they can to preserve it.  I also loved the cover of the book as it reminded me of postcards that I had purchased at some of national parks.      More from the author      I received my book from blogging for books, the review is entirely my own.

Trusting Grace by Maggie Brennan

Trusting Grace tells the story of Grace Bidwell.  She is doing her best to keep her late husband's ranch running and realizes she needs help.  Robert Frasier answers her ad for a hired hand and they both find something more.  Robert needs more than the job that Grace is offering and soon finds himself growing closer to Grace. He soon learns to trust again.  I enjoyed the setting of the book and at times felt like I was there.      I received a copy of the book from the publisher, the review is my own.

Freedom's Price by Christine Johnson

This book really kept my attention as I wanted to keep reading to find out what Catherine would do.  I found her very courageous to undertake the journey of traveling during this time and then having to make the decision of what to do when things do not turn out as expected.  I liked how Catherine and Tom's relationship progressed and how they learned to trust each other.  They both have big decisions to make and must really put their trust in God to make the right decision.      I received a copy of the book from the publisher, the review is my own.

With You Always by Jody Hedlund

This looks like the start to an interesting series.   I always find it interesting to learn about things from the past in the context of a story. It gives me knowledge of how things were without seeming like a history lesson.  I knew some about this time period, but enjoyed learning more.     I liked how Elise took the initiative to step out and do what needed to be done to help out her family even if it meant leaving them.  She had the courage needed to do this and relied on faith to help her out.  Thornton was an interesting character as he set out with a motive in mind and soon found himself doing things for different reasons.  I liked how he grew as a person.  I look forward to more in this series.      I received a copy of the book from the author, the review is entirely my own.

True to You by Becky Wade

I love Nora's job and find it interesting how she applies what she knows.  I would love to visit the village and learn more.  I found it interesting how she was able to use her skills to help out John and how they became more and more attracted to each other as friends and maybe more.  I liked how they were able to work at finding out the answers that John needed and were able to use them for what he needed.  I really  enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one.      I received a copy from the publisher, but the review is entirely my own.

The Final Vow by Amanda Flower

I have enjoyed this series that take place at a living museum. It makes me feel like I have visited the museum, but am glad not to under the circumstances that Kelsey finds Vianna under.  Kelsey has her hands full with Vianna and her ideas for a wedding on the grounds, but when Kelsey finds Vianna dead, she realizes she has to find out what has happened so that the museum is not negatively affected.      I appreciated  how Kelsey was able to handle herself under the circumstances and think that she has a really exciting job.         I received a copy of the book from the publisher to read and review.

My Soul Sings by Kim Vogel Sawyer

A story of hope and help.  Jeremiah needs the healing that the small Arkansas church can provide as he finds our that there is always someone that needs his help.   As he gets there he finds Tessy.  She is in need of a friend and they soon are able to help out each other as they both grow.  It was interesting to learn of the superstitions and ways of the people of Shyler's Point especially during this time in history.  It seems like God knew exactly what was needed in placing Jeremiah there when he did to promote both his healing as well as the town and Tessy's.  He was exactly where he was meant to be.      I received a copy of the book from the author, but the review is entirely my own.

The Genesis Tree

I have really enjoyed this series and this book is better read after the first two.  I always like how Sadie is able to do what is needed and still seem normal (in a very unusual world).  She has really grown over time as she has had to take on more responsibility and has become very observant to what is happening and needs to happen.     I really feel like I am with Sadie on her adventures as the descriptions and writing is well done.  I also liked catching up with some of the characters and events of the previous two books and finding out what has happened.      I received a copy of the book from the author, but the review is my own.
