Lanterns, Lakes, & Larceny by Tonya Kappes

I love Mae and the Laundry Ladies and their adventures in Normal, KY.  Mae has found herself in another case with a dead body.  Hank drags her into a case along with private eye Jerry.  Mae feels like it is a win win because she gets to hang out again with Hank and solve a good mystery, what is there not to love.  Well maybe the danger she finds herself in again could be less, but then it would not be a Mae West type of mystery.

Under the Bayou Moon by Valerie Fraser Luesse

I thought this would be an interesting read as I am from the South and could picture the locations of the book.  I can't imagine traveling from home to a small town as Ellie did and trying to fit in with the community that she becomes a teacher in.  She soon wins over many in the town as the come to see her not as a threat, but as someone to learn from.  She also learns about their culture as well and soon teams up with one of the townspeople as they try to save the white gator. I received a copy of the book to read the review is mine.

Beyond the Tides by Liz Johnson

Meg and Oliver want to buy her family's lobster-fishing business for different reasons.  Her father decides to make the work together for the season to decide who will get to buy it.  They both have their differences but decide to work together to see who will come out on top.  Her father hopes that by working together that bygones will be bygones and they will soon to see just who the other one is. I received  a copy of the book to read, the review is mine.

Hostile Intent by Lynette Eason

I really enjoyed reading the last book in the Danger Never Sleeps Series.  Ava has had a hard life and she has already lost one parent and gets and early discharge from the military so that she can spend time with her mom before she is gone too.  While visiting her mom, she is attacked and fortunately FBI agent Caden is nearby to help save her.  They team up to find out what is going on and to try to stop the killer before he strikes next. I received a copy of the book to read, the review is mine

Burden of Poof: Bonnie & Clyde Mysteries, Julie Anne Lindsey

Bonnie is starting over and has opened a second chance store. While going to pick up some items for her store, she find the owner of the house dead.  Now she must figure out what happened so as to not draw unwanted attention to her new store and and get things back on track. She needs to do all of this before someone comes after her too.  She is also getting to know her new cat Clyde who helps to draw in visitors to her store.  Looking forward to new adventures of Bonnie and Clyde.
