Claws of Action by Linda Reiley

I really enjoy this series about Lara and her aunt and the shelter they run.  I love the interactions with the cats and how they work at finding good homes for them.  They are trying to expand the program with a reading room, but unfortunately the health inspector wants to shut them down, which leads to more trouble when she is found dead.  It is up to Lara to find out what really happened so that they can keep things moving along.
I think that a shelter like Lara and her aunt run would be a great place to find a cat.  You would be able to see them as the really are and the reading program the want to implement is a great way to get reluctant readers to read.
