A Lady in Attendance by Rachel Fordham

Hazel is looking to make a new life and name for herself as she takes a job with Dr. Watts.  As they become more aquatinted , he realizes that there is more to her than meets the eye and gets to know her better.  What he does not know is that she has a past that that could make him look at her differently.  I enjoyed getting to know the characters and seeing how they worked out what they were willing to share and how forgiveness and society norms played into the story. I received a copy to read, the review is mine.

Along a Storied Trail by Ann Gabhart

I have always found it interesting learning about the librarians that went out on horseback and other means to take books to those who could not come and get them.  It would be an interesting job to have as you would get to go and see all the neighbors, although the travel might be a bit much.  Tansy Calhoun has such a job and while delivering her books often has time to daydream and one day thinks that her dreams have come true as a new man comes to town.  She has to decide though what is best, what her heart, or head (and others) think as she continues down her path. I received a copy to read, the review is mine.

Four Cuts Too Many by Debra H. Goldstein

I really enjoyed this next segment in the Sarah Blair mysteries.  Sarah finds herself helping her friend Grace when and instructor she was arguing with was found dead not long after the argument.  Along the way they find some connections to the victim that they did not expect and have to decipher just what is relevant and what is not.  They also have to wonder what Jane is up to as she is trying to cut into Grace's restaurant business and  cut a deal with the city that might not be as it seems.  A real page turner and I look forward to more in this series.  I received a book to read, the review is mine.

Come Back to Me: Waters of Time by Jody Hedlund

An interesting story as Marian does her best to try to save her father and sister from illness.  She looks into her father's research and realizes that he has found holy water that can heal him and her sister.  It can also take you back in time.  Marian finds herself in the Middle Ages and things are not good.  She is rescued by William and they soon begin to care for each other.  Now Marian must make the decision as to go back and help her father and sister, or start a new life with William.  I look forward to book two.   I received a copy to read, the review is mine.

Bridge of Gold by Kimberly Woodhouse

I really enjoyed learning about the Golden Gate Bridge and how it came about.  It was made even more interesting with the story of Kayla and  Steven and how they found as story from the past as they were called in for a discovery when repairs were being made to the bridge.  I liked seeing how the past and present were intertwined and the mysteries of the gold and bodies made it a very good read.  I look forward to more I received a copy to read, the review is mine.

Hours to Kill by Susan Sleeman

A thrilling read as ICE Agent Mack Jordan tries to find out who went after his estranged wife and works at keeping her alive as they try to find who is behind the attack and the firearms smuggling ring.  I really liked the suspense as you never knew what would happen next and who would come after them next.  I also enjoyed getting to see Mack and Addison work on their marriage as they are given a new start.  A good continuation to the series.

Post Mortem by Tonya Kappes

Bernie and Rowena find themselves trying to find out what happened to Jeff after he disappeared from an annual fundraiser.  There are many guesses as to what happened to him and Bernie wants to find out out truth so that his family doesn't have to wonder any more.  I enjoyed reading about all of the guesses as to what happened to him and what they initially thought has happened.  I look forward to reading the next one.
