The Sea Keeper's Daughters by Lisa Wingate

This tells the story of Whitney Monroe who wants to save her business and when she inherits a hotel she thinks she might have found just the ticket.  She finds out that things are not going to go as she hopes in working with the hotel and its residents.  She finds new hope when she finds some items at the hotel that help her to understand what it was like during its heyday and insight into the former owner.
I really liked the backstory in the letters that Whitney found. It is always enjoyable to find out historical facts intertwined within a story.  The information about the WPA and Federal Works project was enjoyable as I like finding out that places I visit today were created or upgraded during that era.  You can usually pick them out by the way they look.  I also love books set at the Outer Banks and enjoy picking out places in the book that I have traveled to.
I received this book free from the publisher to review.  More from the author can be found at http://www.lisawingate.com/
