Amish Christmas at North Star by Various authors

I enjoyed reading this set of stories by this group of authors.  I have read books by each of these authors and was pleased to see this compilation by them.  I enjoy reading about the Amish and how they live and interact with each other.  The story start out the the births of the four girls and then tells a story of each.

Guiding Star by Katie Ganshert tells the story of Chase and Elle.  Chase has traveled to Iowa to investigate the disappearance of an Amish baby and discovers Elle instead.

Mourning Star by Amanda Flower.  Amanda writes great mysteries and this one did not disappoint. Eden is investigating the death of her friend Isaac and has to sneak around some to do it since it is not the Amish way.  I loved seeing the clues and how it all came together and Eden is an interesting character.

In the Stars by Cindy Woodsmall.  I have read and enjoyed several of Cindy's books and liked this one that told of forgiveness and how Kore and Savilla were able to put the past aside to work together in the time of crisis.  I also really liked their unusual names.

Star of Grace by Mindy Starns Clark and Emily Clark.  This great duo has teamed up again to write a great story of Andy and how his family brings him home to North Star.

This can be read in one long setting, but you can get away with reading each story separately.

I enjoy getting a chance to read a set of novellas as it gives me a chance to quickly read one story, but keep it going in the other stories.  Each story has similar theme where the main character of the story receives a letter that changes the course of their life.  Each character needs a change and this gives them a chance to alter their lives for the better.  I enjoyed the way that the authors were able to weave the theme through out the stories and how they kept you turning the page to see what would happen to the characters and how the mysterious changes in their lives would turn out.   I have previously read stories by these authors and would enjoy another collaboration like this one. When Tides Turn by Sarah Sundin

     I have enjoyed reading this series and since I have been studying about WW2 in school, I enjoyed it all the more.  I have liked being about to tie what I have learned in history class with what is in the book because even though it is fiction, it was well researched and gave me a different view on things.  I also enjoyed seeing how the characters interacted even though it was a change of pace for both of them.      I received a copy of the book from the publisher, but the review is entirely mine.

Captivated by the Cowgirl by Jody Hedlund

 We now the story of Felicity in the Cowgirl series.  The family has gotten the boarding house back and Felicity cannot do it alone.  She needs help and finds it in an unlikely place.  I liked seeing the story of Felicity and Philip and how their relationship evolved.  There is much intrigue and hidden dangers involved and the book was a real page turner.   Love this series and keeping up with the characters of all the books in the series.
